Successful workshop for All-Energy Actors

On 29th October, X-FLEX has organised and chaired the workshop “Sustainable Digital Tools for All Energy Actors Workshop” under the framework of the Sustainable Places 2020 conference. The goal of this event was to present a set of ICT tools developed in the X-FLEX, as well as, in the guested H2020 projects FLEXCoopHolisderSynergy, and Flexgrid, that will increase energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies.

The 5 H2020 projects have presented a set of complementary digital tools to provide ICT services and functionalities to all the energy actors, to create a more connected, intelligent, efficient, and sustainable European energy ecosystem.

These complementary tools will enable all the energy actors to control and manage their part of the grid in a more efficient way and participate actively in the energy market. The end-users of these tools could be citizens, energy communities, DSO, TSO, Market Operator, etc. in order to cover all the energy value chain. This way, it will be possible to create a win-win situation, providing benefits and more power to both the grid operators and the final consumers, building greener and more liveable cities.

The projects, that are in different stages, have shown different approaches. In the case of FLEXCOOP and HOLISDER, have shown the first results of the demonstration activities, which have been very useful for the other projects (X-FLEX, Synergy, and Flexgrid) which are now starting with the design of the developments and with the preparation of the demo sites.

Regarding the impact of the COVID-19 in the different projects, the projects which are facing the demonstration phase have been high impacted. The way the end-users involve in the demonstration activities have affected. For instance, more consumption in residential buildings but less activity in industrial and office buildings. However, for the projects which are now in the design phase, this has affected mainly the way they have to organize the meetings and disseminations activities and the visits to the pilot sites.

Sustainable Places prides itself on being an ideal platform for the dissemination of research, the conduct of workshops, EU project clustering, and networking between stakeholders of all types. SP2020 will be held over four days in a digital event format. Between the opening and closing keynote sessions, parallel technical sessions and project-organized workshops will be held on conference topic areas.

You can watch the whole workshop in the video below.
