X-FLEX has been presented to the BRIDGE initiative for the first time during its General Assembly, which took place last 11th February in Brussels.
X-FLEX was part of the poster exhibition area, as well as, of the pitching session together with other Horizon 2020 projects. The project introduced its goals, solutions and benefits but also its potential contribution within the European Initiate BRIDGE.
X-FLEX will collaborate with this initiative through four different Working Groups representing main areas of interest of the European Commission, which are: data management, business models, regulations and customer engagement. Thus, X-FLEX will offer to the initiative its findings with regards to offer a large flexibility potential to the grid.
“Platforms like BRIDGE, that allow research and innovation projects to exchange ideas, integrating more renewables into our energy systems, prove the pivotal role of such projects to help reaching the goals set out in the EU Green Deal” as explained Ditte Juul Jorgensen, Director General for Energy of the European Commission.
BRIDGE is a European Commission initiative which unites Horizon 2020 Smart Grid and Energy Storage Projects to create a structured view of cross-cutting issues which are encountered in the demonstration projects and may constitute an obstacle to innovation.
The BRIDGE process fosters continuous knowledge sharing amongst projects thus allowing them to deliver conclusions and recommendations about the future exploitation of the project results, with a single voice.
