Between 15-16 June 2022, the X-FLEX work plan, deliverables, and milestones were evaluated against objectives by the European Commission during the 2nd Review Meeting in Albena (Bulgaria).
The meeting took place in one of the 4 X-FLEX pilots, Albena an area on the Black Sea coast, which consists entirely of hotel resorts whose main purpose is to provide hospitality services to guests. Which allowed visiting its facilities and the work that is done here within the framework of the project.
During the meeting, the product leaders showed their current status as well as video demonstrations and their future exploitation plans.
In Albena, XFLEX solutions will increase the reliability of energy monitoring and grid resilience and create flexibility market mechanisms with the provision of a model for financial incentives as a motivation for future flexibility efforts and collaborations. Being a predominantly summer resort, Albena is subject to a fluctuating energy demand throughout the year. X-FLEX solutions are further expected to utilise this seasonal difference and improve energy consumption and efficiency.
